Reflexology is an alternative medicine that involves the application of pressure on specific areas of the feet and hands. This is done using the thumb, finger and palm massage techniques. These techniques can be used in conjunction with other techniques like aromatherapy and reflexology, acupuncture or meditation, and other manual therapy techniques such as reflexology and acupuncture. The applicant must also sign a written consent form and meet any other requirements of the institute they wish to join. These requirements will differ from institution to institution, but a fair score on a proficiency test and completing an introductory reflexology course is required, along with the certification.

Reflexology is subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Malaysia. There are more than 40 Reflexology centers in Malaysia, in addition to numerous self-practicing groups.
